While addressing a group in a New York City YWCA, Hillary Clinton stated that voting for her would cause the price of oil to drop. What, you may be asking, uniquely qualifies her to make such a claim? During her inaugural speech she’ll announce a plan to reduce dependence on foreign oil. When they hear this, oil producing countries will drop their prices to dissuade America’s interest in alternative energy. She refers to former President Jimmy Carter’s efforts to reduce foreign oil dependence. This prompts a number of questions.
With China, Japan, India, Germany… everyone on the planet increasing oil consumption, how much influence does America have on oil pricing? Of course we’re the largest consumer, but unlike the 1970’s there’s a world market today. Second, what’s so special about Hillary Clinton that the Arabs will pay attention to her? I mean, the last time I checked OPEC wasn’t contributing to the feminist movement in any meaningful way. I would think that if anything, they’ll jack up prices to spite America for electing a woman. And finally, when did Arabs start responding to threats?
I know the Presidential candidates will say just about anything to get themselves nominated, but this statement is laughable. Hillary Clinton, what were you thinking?
