Huckabee For Sale

Mike Huckabee’s questionable ethics continue. It seems that he’s accepting money to speak at churches. He claims that he’s broke, so he’s providing his supporters with a means to keep his family fed until the election. He’ll come to speak at your local congregation for $25,000. By law he’s not allowed to say anything about his campaign for Presidency, so he’s likely to give a sermon.

With what little I know of Mike Huckabee, I’m not a fan. This just takes that sentiment one step further. He’s held office in Arkansas’ Governor’s mansion for more than a decade. I recognize that may not have been the highest paying Governorship, but he accepted all those gifts. He & his wife were so accustomed to people’s hospitality that when he left office they registered for more gifts. He must have known that he wanted to run for President, how is it that he didn’t save? Or was giving $25,000 sermons part of his financial plan?

I’m not gay, but I think it would be fantastic if a primarily homosexual congregation ponied up the money to have him come speak. Oh, even better. Double it and have him debate the issue of homosexuality. That’d give angry people the chance to vent, and it would also test his statement about whether or not he’s really broke.
