This isn’t exactly new, but it is worth repeating. Last week voters in the Vermont towns of Battleboro and Marlboro passed articles calling for President Bush and Vice President Cheney to be arrested for violating the constitution. This follows several non-binding resolutions to end the war in Iraq and impeach Bush and Cheney.

Someone over at Democracy Means You published an open letter to Dubya suggesting that the liberal state would like to secede from the union. Though its a few years old, I hadn’t seen it before. Its a bit biting, a bit fun, and liberal to the core.
The Washington Post recently reported that last week President Bush invited select news anchors to an off-the-record luncheon prior to his nationally televised address on Iraq.

Last month president Bush expanded the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. It was a fast modification to account for advances in technology. Today Bush announced that national security professionals are dependent on these laws to be effective in their jobs.
When the Protect America Act, as its called, was passed Congress set it to expire in six months so that it could be fine tuned. In his announcement Bush said “Without these tools, our country will be much more vulnerable to attack,” and “The threat from al Qaida is not going to expire in 135 days, so I call on Congress to make the Protect America Act permanent.”


Bush’s War
My Tivo recorded the Frontline series on the war in Iraq last week. I watched the first episode last night. The series makes the argument that Bush’s administration colluded and distorted facts to garner American support for war in Iraq. I’m not close enough to the administration to comment on the validity of the claim, but I will say that Frontline presents a compelling argument. If they’re right, holy cow is that awful.
